Natural Discourse and LA County Parks and Recreation invite you to a very special free event at the historic Whittier Narrows Nature Center in South El Monte. The park is situated in the San Gabriel valley flood plain and at the confluence of the San Gabriel and Rio Honda rivers. The charming Nature Center was founded in the 1930’s by the Audubon Society and remains a favorite for bird watchers. The building houses a small museum with live and taxidermied animals, cultural artifacts and is surrounded by walking trails.

Natural Discourse has invited nine artists to present installation, video and digital animation works about water, climate, culture, urban wilderness and native plants for food.

Please join us as an amazing group of contemporary artists project their work onto the landscape of one of Los Angeles County’s hidden gems to illuminate the unprecedented ecological and technological shifts that are remaking our world.

Participating Artists:
Amabelle Aguiluz, Tanya Aguiniga, Carolina Caycedo, Chia Cafe Collective, Chris Doyle, Tim Durfee, Rebeca Mendez, Enid Baxter Ryce & MB Maher

this is event is outdoors and will be cancelled in case of rain
